## [Council on Technology and Social Cohesion](https://techandsocialcohesion.org/)

_We envision a world where tech innovators and peacebuilders design technology that strengthens social bonds and enables collaborative problem-solving on pressing policy issues. We are catalyzing a robust, interconnected field of technology for social cohesion. Technology can help to save lives and protect human dignity, especially in high-risk communities._

_Our focus isn’t just on mitigating digital harms but addressing their root cause: **the way technologies are designed and deployed**. Our approach is proactive, emphasizing design-centric solutions that build social cohesion. We aim for prosocial technologies to be **desirable, affordable and actionable**._

On Jun 6 2025 they published:

>
> The new Blueprint for Prosocial Tech Design Governance lays out systems that incentivize prosocial design—and goes beyond just removing harm.

## [Prosocial Design Network](https://www.prosocialdesign.org/)

_The Prosocial Design Network connects research to practice toward a world in which online spaces are healthy, productive, respect human dignity, and improve society. We define prosocial design as the set of design patterns, features and processes which foster **healthy interactions** between individuals and which create the conditions for those interactions to thrive by ensuring individuals’ **safety, wellbeing and dignity**._

Laid out as a pattern library there are currently 45 prosocial patterns that are being not only documented, but also monitored and validated for their effectiveness..

![Snapshot of the first row of patterns in the library](https://discuss.coding.social/uploads/default/original/2X/3/3aca61b31e56b13e5e7ac656d798588dadaa95f3.png)

## [Decent patterns](https://decentpatterns.com/): Decentralization, off the shelf

_The mission of Decentralization Off The Shelf (or “DOTS”) is to develop UX components and tools that developers and designers can use to build better user-facing applications backed by decentralized architectures, **off the shelf**. Decent Patterns is a design project supporting practitioners in decentralization through interface, content, and service design. Our main resource is a library of tried-and-tested [design patterns](https://decentpatterns.com/library), along with a glossary of terms and a [research report](https://decentpatterns.com/report) detailing the needs and gaps we see in the current ecosystem._

Currently they have the following UX designs in their pattern library:

Involved with this project is [Eileen Wagner](https://bumble.blue/) ([@bumbleblue@chaos.social](https://chaos.social/@bumbleblue)), who also does work for Ink & Switch as a UX engineer, where they developed the “Fullscreen” collaborative whiteboard prototype, and recently gave this local-first talk:
